David Cook (Winner)

David is currently due to work with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Jesse McCartney on his upcoming album. The album is slated to release in the fall of 2008.

David Archuleta (Runner-Up)

On June 5, 2008, Jive Records announced that David signed a recording contract with the label and that his debut album will be released later this year, after the "American Idols Live! 2008 Tour".

Syesha Mercado (Third Place)

Syesha will join the other contestants for the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008. She has recently filmed a commercial with fellow finalists, Carly Smihtson and Brooke White.

Jason Castro (Fouth Place)

Jason will join the other contestants for the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008. On Amazon.com customers can sign up to be notified when a singer of their choice releases an album. An album from Jason is currently the most requested.

Brooke White (Fifth Place)

Brooke stated in an interview that she won't sign a record deal before the tour is over. She has recently filmed a commercial with fellow finalists, Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson.

Carly Smithson (Sixth Place)

Carly will join the other contestants for the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008. She has recently filmed a commercial with fellow finalists, Syesha Mercado and Brooke White.

Kristy Lee Cook (Seventh Place)

Kristy has recently re-signed with Arista Nashville, and will record an album during the American Idol Summer Tour.

Michael Johns (Eigth Place)

Michael will be one of the finalists on the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 which will tour over 50 cities from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008.

Ramiele Malubay (Ninth Place)

Ramiele expressed her willingness to go to the Philippines to pursue her career, following the footsteps of Idol alumnus Jasmine Trias. She was nominated as a Favorite TV Personality in 2008 JC Penney Asian Excellence Awards. Ramiele announced that she will perform alongside semi-finalist Danny Noriega at a concert in the Philippines in December.

Chikezie (Tenth Place)

Chikezie will be part of the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 which will tour over 50 cities from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008.

Amanda Overmyer (Eleventh Place)

On May 24, 2008 Amanda headlined the Women of Rock show at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA.

David Hernandez (Twelfth Place)

David is currently writing and recording some songs while waiting for a record deal. Sources on HernandezFans.com claim that he is currently working with producer Joshua Bass on material.
