Jordin Sparks (Winner)

Successful? YES

Jordin is the opening act for Alicia Keys on the U.S. leg of her As I Am tour. Before going on tour, she performed "No Air" with Chris Brown on the April 10, 2008 results show as part of Idol Gives Back. She was also to appear on the GMA Dove Awards as part of a tribute to Michael W. Smith. Jordin will team up with cosmetics company, Avon, to become a spokesperson for the teen-focused line Mark.

BlakeBlake Lewis (Runner-Up)

Successful? NO

Released one album (299,000 copies sold in the US) and two singles. On June 25, 2008 Entertainment Weekly officially announced that Blake is no longer signed with Arista Records but will remain on Idol creator Simon Fuller's 19 Recordings roster. Therefore, his third single might not be released. Blake said he may release the disc through his own label, which he's in the process of getting off the ground.

Melinda Doolittle (Third Place)

Successful? NO

Melinda has stated that she plans to work on a CD, and that it would be "soul music" It has been confirmed that she will be joining Michael W. Smith on his upcoming Christmas tour. Melinda is currently in the studio working on her debut album which will be released by the end of the summer. She also stated that a Christmas album will be out by the end of this year.

LaKisha Jones (Fourth Place)

Successful? NO

In late September 2007, it was announced that LaKisha would take over the role of the church soloist in the Broadway musical The Color Purple. LaKisha played the role of Sofia during matinees (standing in for Chaka Khan). She also revealed that her album will be released exclusively on the Internet on August 5th 2008.

Chris Richardson (Fifth Place)

Successful? NO

On May 20, 2008, his debut album tentatively titled, All Alone, is put on the fast track. Recording takes place in LA, Miami and Virginia. On April 19, 2008, Chris appeared as a surprise guest at Jason Mraz's concert in Norva, part of Mraz's "Music, Magic, and Makepeace Tour". He sang a duet with Mraz with "Geek in the Pink".

Phil Stacey (Sixth Place)

Successful? NO

His debut single, "If You Didn't Love Me", was released to radio in early 2008 as the lead-off to his self-titled debut album, which was issued April 29, 2008 on Lyric Street. His self-titled debut album was released in April 2008.
